Do you ever heard of some urban legends? Do your believe ghost and spirits exist in this world? Do you ever see any spirits or ghost with your eyes? Here, I am going to share some urban legends with you. You might not take it seriously. However, I demand for your respect in this issue. You will never know whether THEY are around you or THEY might be reading this particular blog post beside you!
I bet most of us go to cinema to update ourselves with the latest movies. Did any of your friends tell you that some of the seats are reserved for THEM? Just want to share with everyone of you, the first and the last row of seats are reserved for THEM. Do not let your curiousity drives you which turn out to be an itchy butt and sit on the mentioned seats. You might never know that THEY bought the ticket and was there throughout the screening, it just appeared that you are not able to see THEM.
The same thing for the elevator as well. Do not stand at the corners of any elevator, because those are the places THEY more likely to stand. Be alert with it, I bet you do not want to stuck in the elevator and spend a night with THEM, would you?
Do you ever experience being disturb by THEM at night? Probably not at home, it might be at hotel? Or maybe at office? Do you ever hear someone call you and you know no one is there? For such situation, do not respond to it, because THEY will keep on calling you and THEY will be enjoying disturb you. Let's move to other situation, do you ever experience someone keep on pulling your blanket when you are sleeping? One of my friends experienced when he was having his National Service. To encounter such situation, just scold out whatever vulgar words that come to your mind, this will scared THEM and they will not disturb you again, THEY will be enjoying disturb you all the time.
One last thing to share with all of you, it is about the RULES and REGULATIONS for staying at hotel.
First thing to do before you enter you enter the room is to knock the door 3 times, flush the toilet once you enter the room, and say it out loud to the room, "I will be staying at here for a couples of days." This is important as it serves as an acknowledgement to them. This sounds freaky, right? But you better do it to ensure that you have a pleasant vacation, I bet you do not want to wake by SOMEONE in the middle of the night, would you?
Just a piece of advice, do not read this post ALONE at night, or... You might feel something is staring at you somewhere... That calls a day...

taboos!
yes, my title shouted it all, TABOOS!!!

for your information, taboos means words or actions or anything that is being banned (which means you are not allowed to say or do it, anyhow). In chinese society, they have a lot of superstitions stuff to be followed, which was passed from older generation to younger generation. well, usually the younger people try to unfollow or avoid but yea, we want the best for ourselves and family and friends, so, we will still follow those "taboos" blindly!
taboos for chinese new year is just too common, like no sweeping floor (your money and fortune will being swept away), cannot throw rubbish on first day (your fortune will be thrown), must wear red (to show happiness and prosperity) and etc etc etc. i believe you do heard a little from here and there right?
taboos (pantang) during and after pregnancy for Chinese, that's what i wanna share about~

taboos (
- not allowed to sew things or even hold scissors (older generation) because they believed that the newborn baby will have dented lips or improper lips, like with stitches.
- not allowed to move furniture around in the house (other people also cannot move it), especially the mother's bed because they believed you will have miscarriage for doing that
- after giving birth, mother is not allowed to wash hair or touch water, preferable to have every meals cooked with oil and ginger or even drink the ginger juice freshly, must wear socks all the time (even it is 34 degree celcius!) and only allowed to drink hot water for 30 days because they believed the mother will catch a cold if she does not follow the rules
- after giving birth, mothers are not allowed to go out or bring the baby out, because they believed the baby will be too shy or got frightened (these lasts for 30 days)
- nobody can praise the baby, as in "wow! you have such a cute and chubby little baby boy!" as they believed opposite of the praises will happen. so if they happened to hear any praises for the baby, they will quickly say "choi! (touch wood), ugly girl or ugly boy!"
these are a few examples, i hope this is new to you! =)
well, do you find it ridiculous, funny or acceptable?

Respect Mother Nature.
What is Urban legends?
Well, it's just stories that may or may not be true.
They are maybe just some silly practical jokes, hoax or maybe a prank.
You might hear them from your grandparents, parents or maybe friends...
One of the urban legends I heard a few years ago was told by my mother which was told by my grandmother too.

One of the urban legends I heard a few years ago was told by my mother which was told by my grandmother too.
Malaysia is blessed with lush green rainforest which attracts many for jungle trekking and camping.
And I often here about people who go missing in the forest during the jungle trekking. Some can be found days after that. Sadly, some may not return back.
This is one of the reasons I never go jungle trekking with my friends.
There are a few rules that need to be followed when entering the jungle so that the jungle spirits will not bring us any harm.
These are some of the rules I've heard from my friends and family..
- Always ask permission if you want to take something from the jungle.
- Ask permissions if there's nature's call emergency that you have to go.
- Never call out real names of a person.
- Never talk in a boastful manner.
- Never cuss or talk bad about the jungle.
There have been several cases in Malaysia that the victims claimed that they had no idea how they could get lost even though the place they were found is very near to the last place they were seen.
Some people said that the forest spirits like 'Orang Bunian' must have clouded their minds and played tricks with them.
'Orang Bunian' are said to look like elf. In Brazil, another type of forest spirit which is similar to 'Orang Bunian' is also known as Curupira.
So, the next time you decide to go for a walk in the jungle.
Follow the rules and respect Mother Nature!
